The Second Stage of Aerodynamic Testing Frigate Ecojet Aitcraft has Launched. The main purpose for testing is to obtain aerodynamic characteristics that most closely resemble natural flight conditions.

The testswill be conducted at the European Transonic Windtunnel (ETW) in Cologne, which has the most modern infrastructure to conduct this kind of research. During testing insulated sealed circuit inside made ​​of stainless steel, the boiling liquid nitrogen is fed. Compressor 50 MW power circulates nitrogen gas, creating a cryogenic temperature to 115K (-158 °C), which causes a change in viscosity and a corresponding increase in the Reynolds number up to full-scale.

The program tests laid modes and state of the model, aimed at getting the aerodynamic characteristics in natural conditions to study the effect of buffeting and reduce resistance to the individual components of the layout.

Test models in a cryogenic wind tunnel at an early stage of the program of creation of the aircraft due to its unconventional geometry. Standard methods of translation are not able to adequately assess the level of performance on tests in conventional wind tunnels. Test set - ETW (Germany) was chosen because it is the only industrial wind tunnel, which allows the test to obtain the aerodynamic characteristics under natural conditions.
