Russian Avia Consortium and the Exolus Group Expand Strategic Cooperation for Frigate Ecojet Program
18 September 2013
Russian Avia Consortium (“RAC”) and the Exolus Group have agreed to expand their 2011 Strategic Cooperation to deepen their work in the development of the optimal global operating platforms for the Frigate Ecojet program. Frigate Ecojet program involves the development of a new wide-body short/medium haul civil aircraft using a brand new aerodynamic and design configuration in accordance with the requirements made for the next generation aircraft. The primary goal of Frigate Ecojet program is the development of a competitive range of new wide-body short/medium haul aircraft «Frigate Ecojet» based on a fundamentally new, innovative aerodynamic and structural design.
To date, the Exolus Group has supported RAC in defining the evolution and transformation in the range of the world’s major system integrators’ global operating platforms, focusing on production logistics, airframe production, and vendor selection – while assessing the underpinning risk sharing partnerships, industrial offset agreements, subsidies, and so forth. These studies were undertaken with a view of defining the most optimal global operating model for the Ecojet integration in view of RAC’s specific strategic, operational, financial and risk management objectives. In moving forward, RAC and Exolus will move forward with a sequencing of the implementation in the development of a truly unique and best-in-class global operating platform tailored to a new generation of aircraft.
“We have been pleased in working with the Exolus Group to explore and further push the envelope in creating leading innovative global platforms for the integration of next generation commercial aircraft,” said Dmitri Travnikov, General Program Manager, “and we are now excited in proceeding to the next phase of implementation in the development of the platform. As a first step in a new phase of cooperation, we consider formation of the RFP for placing final assembly line and subsequent evaluation of proposals using a unique experience of Exolus.”
“We are thrilled to continue working with RAC in defining the next generation platforms for next-generation commercial aircraft, by leveraging our global resources and core service expertise in crafting complex global platforms for the world’s leading companies,” said France Houdard, Managing Partner of the Exolus Group.
